Amnesty Afghanistan

Afghan News

Afghanistan is one of the worst places to live. There is constant war between rival Islamic groups including Al-Qaeda and the Taliban and the drug trade is growing. Little outside help available for Afghans- only the US and a few of its allies remain to protect rural villages from Taliban raids. At a global level, there is very little interest in the outcome of the Afghanistan's internal conflict, mainly because it will have little consequence for the rest of the world. World leaders have made the point that nothing good has ever come out of Afghanistan. To a large extent this is true. The only Afghan who is a household name is the international terrorist Osama Bin Laden. The country has never produced any sportsmen, politicians, scientists, food, music, art or anything else of real worth. At Medsin we believe that it is unfair for some people to suffer simply because of where they were born. Afghani children deserve the freedom to go to school without the fear of being kidnapped by the Taliban and forced to fight as soldiers. We think it is important for those of us who have the means to help save the unfortunate Afghan people from the wretched lives they now live.
